Gamma Light Mist Treatment Review at D'skin
I arrived at D'skin that was located conveniently at Novena Square to experience for myself one of their newly launched Gamma Light Mist Treatment. This Gamma Light Mist Treatment is said to be an advanced form of treatment that could reduce inflammation and revive tired skin.
Since it was my first time at D'skin, my treatment started off with the standard skin analysis with the aid of a machine that could analyse stuff such as the hydration level of my face, mainly forehead and both cheeks.
After removing my shoes, I was led into the treatment room all ready to begin. I know it sounds strange but the sounds of Gamma Light Mist got me kind of excited.
My face was gently given a double cleansed before steam was used to open up my pores. As I have oily skin and often have battles with my deadly acne enemies, my whiteheads were plentiful. A yellowish gel-like mask was applied on my face which needed time to harden before peeling off. It definitely was satisfying to see so much of my whiteheads being wiped out as the mask was peeled from my face! For facial treatment like this, I do not edit my face. Do check out my unedited pictures below and you would understand what I meant. (This whiteheads removal process is not part of the Gamma Light Mist Treatment.)
Minor extraction was next and my facial therapist was gentle in case it was too painful for me to bear. I have high medium-high pain threshold anyway. A device was used on my face after my extraction and it was prickly. Most probably the effect of bacterial elimination from my face. Another device that emits purplish lights can could only be visible from the camera screen aids in the rejuvenation process.
Next comes the Gamma Light Mist Treatment which emits mist that could penetrate into the deepest layer of my skin to activate each cell's metabolic process. The mist emitted was cooling as though I was undergoing a face spa, coating my face with fine droplets and moisturising it in the process. It was probably about 10 minutes each time on the left, right and front of my face.
The treatment ended off with an oxygenated mask which was probably my first time hearing this term. The mask was clear, gel-like and had little lumpy stuff which I have no idea about. It was pretty easy to rinse off too.
By the end of the treatment, besides the slight redness from the extraction process which was normal, I felt an improved resilience and my skin was indeed more hydrated too. The total length of the treatment was about 120 mins and suitable for all skin types.
Thank you Brandcellar and D'skin for the invite.

Pangdemonium’s Fundraiser Concert - THE JAM
Pangdemonium’s Fundraiser Concert - THE JAM has started and I still could not believe myself being seated on the second row, smacked right in the middle of the Esplanade Concert Hall! I was one of the fortunate few to be invited by DBS as a SPARKS fan.
Just a short recap, SPARKS is a mini series of episodes by DBS that is inspired by true stories, featuring a group of young bankers as they navigate work and personal lives. They challenged the status quo and went beyond when solving unusual client challenges. (You may want to also check out my previous when DBS launches SPARK episode 6 at DBS Asia X).
The 7th episode has been up and running and in this latest episode, Sparks saw an all Singapore cast including Jaime Teo, Daren Tan, Noorlinah Mohamed and of course Nathan Hartono whom was one of the singers, together with Benjamin Kheng, Tabitha Nauser, Inch Chua and Andrew Marko performing that night!
Besides the obvious beautiful voices of these 5 talented individuals, they definitely synchronised well while performing as a group. The zest and tons of humour they incorporated into their performance kept the audience wild and hyper! The funniest segment of the performance was when Nathan Hartono and Andrew Marko had a duet, singing out lyrics formed using "bad day" scenerios shouted out by the audience. Hmm, I should have shouted out something challenging for them!
That night ended with me and my friend getting the opportunity to take photos with the 5 stars singers. It was a thrilling experience for me since I hardly get the chance to be star struck!
Thank you DBS for the invite!

Authentic Peranakan Food at The Peranakan - Singapore
Peranakan cuisine is probably one of the lesser known cuisine in Singapore and The Peranakan, an under rated restaurant that resides along Orchard Road, not only introduces its food but along with its culture as well. From the beautifully furnished interiors to the decorative ornaments to utensils and dining wares, I got the chance to immense myself and experience the peranakan culture with a group of friends!
Since it was a group dinner, we had the privilege to try out many of the popular ala carte dishes as well as the Tok Panjang Feast (Min. 2 persons to share). Tok Panjang refers to a feast laid out along a long table, specially prepared for special guests.
I heaved a sign of relief as I scanned through the spammed amount of images I took. The lighting was dim as compared to lunch timing but that doesn't compromise my photos clarity!
We started off with Bak Wan Kepiting, a light and clear broth of subtle sweetness, with crabmeat, pork and prawn balls that has a nice bite. Itik Tem on the other hand was much stronger in taste, saltier due to the salted vegetables, with tender steamed duck and sour plum.
Moment of revelation that my 3 favourite dishes that night were actually the meat dishes. Not that the vegetables did not fare well but personal preference for guys would usually be the meat.
Ayam Buah Keluak was a dish that took at least 3 days of soaking to wash off the poisonous volcanic ashes from the Buah Keluak nuts originated in Indonesia. The nut itself was bitter and tasted almost like dark chocolate of about 85% cocoa. The dish's gravy itself was rich in flavor that the tender chicken had partially absorbed, perfect with rice.
Satay Babi was not your usual satay with skewers. It was slices of pork belly with melt-in-your-mouth fats, coated with sweet and chunky peanut sauce. Another dish that has gravy perfect with rice!
Beef Rendang was an addiction for me. I couldn't help but to refrain myself from taking too much since the beef was surprising tender and the spices were well balanced. I liked how it was a 'dry' dish that has moisture within. I was lucky enough to have eaten the tendon as well!
Other dishes not mentioned were also fresh and delicious in their own ways, just that I have listed my individual preferences. The meal ended off with Chef’s Dessert Platter with my favourite dessert being the homemade pineapple tart that was not so sweet. Not forgetting the fluffy Pandan Chiffon Cake with Gula Melaka Drizzle that everyone loved!
Thank you Chef Raymond for hosting and explaining about the dishes and it was definitely great catching up with other blogger friends over a great Peranakan meal!

The Nutcracker - A Magical Extravaganza Theatrical Performance Review
As the lights went off while the curtains went up, I was already seated at the edge of my seat, excitedly waiting for the performance to begin. I was least expecting Lawrence to make a grand magical appearance on stage which signalled the commencement of "The Nutcracker".
For those who might not have known, "The Nutcracker" is an old Christmas classic tale of a young girl's favourite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker, came alive and after defeating the evil rat king in battle, brought her to a magical kingdom populated by dolls.
Jointly produced and presented with a twist from the original "The Nutcracker" by Gateway Entertainment and P'art 1 Design, this magical theatrical production has incorporated countless world-class illusions, known as magic in layman or kiddy terms. With the performance performed by award-winning Lawrance Khong and his daughter Priscilla Khong, together with an international dance troupe of 14 dancers and supported by over 50 backstage crew. No wonder the show had such an excellent and smooth flow of scenarios.
Basically throughout the entire performance, there were almost no narration or dialogue except for maybe a brief introduction by Lawrance. Despite that fact, I could still easily understand and interpret the storyline through the professional acting of the performers. Their facial expressions, movements as well as the multiple dances performed kept me leaning over the edge of my seat since I was seated nearer to the back of the theatre.
My senses were overwhelmed in a positive aspect by the digital screen, an unconventional technological backdrop that displayed special 3D effects and laser-like lights that dances with the rhythm as well as for dramatic enhancement. Not forgetting a running scene where projection was used for a hyper reality effect that kept audiences in awe. Smoke was also incorporated close to the end of the performance.
Elaborated props and colourfully designed costumes definitely deserved a thumbs up as well as such elements added to the overall visual of the performance. I could still remember my fascination as performers appear on stage, each with a totally different yet coherent style of costumes, scenes after scenes. I wouldn't mind wearing such nice costumes as well too! I went "OMG' when a realistic structure of a massive branch slowly descended from above. A rhetorical question of how on earth and how much effort and time was needed to make that? I exited my thinking cloud as I preferred to continue enjoying the performance since that particular scene reminded me of the movie "Monster, Inc".
Tempted to go on and on describing every detail from the different scenarios to the breath taking magic performance but I would never want to spoil surprises. Do take a look at their website and tickets are available to be purchased on https://nutcracker.gateway.sg/.
Thank you Gateway Entertainment and Affluence PR for the magical invite!
