Chinatown Food Street - A perfect supper spot

The last time I visited Chinatown Food Street for a meal was a year back. The experience was definitely not the same last week since Chinese New Year is just around the corner. The streets were tainted red with New Year stuffs, lights and lanterns hanging overhead, vendors shouting for attention to promote their products, and I trying to squeeze my way through the crowded streets to get to my destination - Chinatown Food Street. Despite the horrible jam and everyone being forced to walk slowly in tiny steps, I could feel everyone's impending joy and excitement for this festive season.

Finally reaching Chinatown Food Street - From 30 Jan to 18 Feb, the operating hours of Chinatown Food Street will be extended to 2am daily! In order to cater to the supper fans, an additional 120 seats has been added and bringing the total capacity to over 800 pax! Not to forget the range of 24 hawker stalls to order from too.

Chinatown Food Street will be closed on 19 Feb (Chu Yi) and will resume operations on 20 Feb with its original operating hours of 11am to 11pm.

The Event kick-started off with the Yusheng (S$28 for small, S$38 for large), also known as lo hei. It is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. I read through the cheng yu (4 word Chinese idioms) with my cannot-make-it mandarin during each addition of ingredients before we all started lo hei-ing wildly! Bits and pieces raining everywhere across the whole table....

Posing with the rows of electronic firecrackers which 'exploded' with realistic crackling sound every hour from 8-10 that night. This is the only yearly season when I get to pose with firecrackers.

After the lo hei, we were all ready up for the game! Each groups were to purchase 10 different dishes from any stall along Chinatown Food Street and to take a photo with the (hashtag) #Chinatownfoodstreet ! Below are some of the food pictures I have taken for your reference. (Not according to any sequence, just the nicer pictures.)

Outlet name: Chong Chong Ngoh Hiang Prawn Fritter

Outlet name: Newton Circus Admad Ibrahim Satay

Outlet name: Maxwell Road Soon Soon Popiah . Laksa

Outlet name: Chinatown Enak Fritters

Outlet name: Chinatown Crab Master

Outlet name: Food Street Fried Kway Teow Mee

Outlet name: Chinatown Food Street Hot/Cold Beverages

It would be great if only I could try the food from every single stall, provided my stomach could digest in time before sleep. I kept mentioning that we all needed a coconut drink to cool off the heat as well as to quench our thirst! Our table really ended up with mainly coconuts and lime juice!

Evilbean and I posing with our coconut!

By the way, the winner of the game was my group!!! We were all so siao-on, dashing off to order the food and back busy with the hashtagging! From 13 Feb to 3 March, spend $10 in a single receipt at Chinatown Food Street and get a 20% discount voucher off Trick Eye Museum admission tickets. T&Cs apply: Voucher is valid until 31 March 2015 only

Too bad you can't reserve the whole Chinatown Food Street for yourself! (I so love the bright light at this spot!)

Thank you Rachel, Chinatown Food Street for the invite and Charmaine, Peishan for the hosting!

Something New, Something Golden found at Domino's

Domino's once again launches something new, something golden
right before this coming Chinese New Year!

Not 1 but 4 exciting new baked Golden Chicken that comes with different sauce and toppings!

No pizzas, rings or drumlets picture in this post since these Golden Chicken are snatching the limelight for now! (You can check out my older posts for their pizzas here and here if you want.)

Golden Italiano Chicken

Golden Mediterranean Chicken

 Golden Mexican Chicken

Golden Outback Chicken

When these Golden Chicken arrived on our table, all of us could not wait to try all 4 Golden Chicken! (Not without taking pictures first of course.)

''Which is which?''
''This one taste really good!''
''This one quite spicy!''
''I also find this too spicy.''
''I don't know which one I am eating but it taste so good!''
''It is quite convenient to eat these.''

Mainly positive feedback started flowing, like the chocolate molten lava cake that Domino's have.

Anyway, the base may look a bit charred and hard because of the cheese. I guess the base was meant to gather the bite-size 'chicken balls' together.

Right now Domino's is running the GOLD RUSH PROMOTION!!!
Key in these discount codes for these benefits!! (Valid till 8th March!)

BLG224A – Free Golden Chicken with Regular pizza purchase

BLG224B – Free Golden Chicken with Large pizza purchase

BLG224C - Free Golden Chicken with Xtra Large pizza purchase

BLG224D - $5.00 for Golden Chicken

Not only that, check out this link on how to win attractive prizes when you purchase from Domino's!

After eating is always the 'let's-take-a-wefie' time!

Another shot! That sign is rather off...LOL

The Entertainer Launch Party 2015 at Lime House!

Last week I was invited to The Entertainer Launch Party 2015, located at Lime House! Lime House is Singapore's first Caribbean restaurant that serves really unique Caribbean dishes. I got to try 3 of the tapas and they were nicely marinated, mainly infused with a blend of herbs.

Just a selfie on my way to The Entertainer Launch Party 2015! The wind was so strong that my hair was so messy omg... Luckily it was evening and Lime House was towards the after-work-chill / romantic setting where the lights tend to be on the dimmer side.

We were served some alcoholic drinks that night. So sorry I still couldn't finish my drink despite adding plenty of ice... I am just not suitable for alcohol ...

While hanging around chilling with some tapas and having ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery, I got to know new blogger friends who had similar passion (in food) as me. Had a chat with my blogger friend Monice who was at the event too!

P/s: I actually took many pictures with them as well as with the mascot. Too bad the pictures did not turn out decent enough to be post here. =/ There is always a next time...

I myself am quite a fan of The Entertainer App already! The app already helped me save a fair bit of money since I often dine out. Before drafting this post, I have already used the app twice!! See how useful it is when you are out with a friend (me) with this app??

Check out my previous post on The Entertainer App as well as some of the links of F&B outlets that I have visited using the app here!

Not to forget, until the end of FEB, users of the PROMO CODE '2015ALVIN' can enjoy a further 10% discount on top of the early bird price, which is only $54!

Those who are unfamiliar on how to use The Entertainer App, here is a simple step by step tutorial!

Migme social entertainment platform - #migupSG #migmesg

I was invited by the guys behind #migmesg as an invited blogger to the #migupSG talk the other day. I headed down to their office to find out more about this social entertainment platform since I have not heard of it before. (Migme has been re-branded as it was previously known as mig33.)
I will let these cute migme stickers do the talking since they are so eager to share more about Migme!

Hey there! *waves* Since Migme is rather new in Singapore, I shall give you guys a brief introduction of what Migme is all about!

If you like dressing up an avatar like me *act cool*, there are just so many different clothes to choose from. How about being cool virtually like me?

Migme have a leveling system where you get to level up! Obviously the higher the level, the more accomplished you are, just like gaming. Pssst, one of Migme team member is a huge fan of Dota 2, just like me! Anyway, being higher level unlock more functions such as being able to create chat groups at level 10, larger chat rooms as well as able to give more premium gifts.

The variety of gifts is really huge! Hmmm you won't expect what your friends might give you...*evil laugh*
I am dying to see your reaction when you open that gift box...

You won't be bored since Migme incorporated a live chat where you could chat with your friends privately if you are mutually following each other. Larger chat rooms available for bigger groups too!

You don't have to crack your brain too hard or stressed over what to post. Just post what comes to your mind. Adding a couple of pictures would also be great! Not to forget those ##### (hashtags) of trending topics.

Even if you don't post anything, you could be a stalker detective like me to check out on other people's profile or what they posted.

Back to me and ending my post with 2 random pictures I took!

3 guys with 3 migmes' or whatever you call them...
Feel free to sign up an account and add me @dessertingbeauty as well!

Alive Museum Singapore and some tips to thoroughly enjoy the experience!

I seldom post about lifestyles. But once I do, I do it wild!

I have been wanting to make a trip to Korea partly because of one of its main attraction, the trick eye museum. Thanks to #omy and #alivemuseum , I now had the chance to experience something similar and enjoyable! It is to visit Alive Museum conveniently located at Suntec City!

So here are some poses my friend and I did at Alive Museum Sg! Enjoy!
(Note: Some of the captions may contain colourful languages.)

Smacked right at the entrance, the first exhibit was this bare ass woman on the bed.
Hey! I wasn't going to touch that ass! Quit spying on me!

Another one of the more perverted horny shot of me .... Don't judge me as this was purely for photo taking purpose only!
(Note: These 2 pictures are about to be removed from the exhibit site due to many negative feedback.)

Hail to the king! The really relax and slack one.

Hi mom, I am hungry. Can I have food now?

Nooooo! Let me go!

Summoning forest dragon jitsu! Wrong hand sign for a summoning jitsu....O well....I watched too much Naruto episodes!

There was also a fully mirrored room with disco lights! What happens when you place blogger with mirrors? Werking it out with camwhole shots! Girls please wear skirt, we guys promised not to peep.

I did this inverted shot since we had the whole mirror room to ourselves!

When people started coming in, you have no choice but to have them in your shots just because it is a mirrored room! Duh!

''I came in like a wrecking ball!'' My friend owned this picture.

I am not surfing any porn website in here! Oppps, stupid mirror!

I don't know why I looked so calm in here...

Another picture which owned me flat. My friend did a bit of unbuttoning to show his abs tummy! He is going to slaughter me for this.

Thankfully nobody else was around when I stripped and took this shot! Help! The whirlpool is sucking me hard in!

Another dramatic shot! If only a girl would wear a bikini for this....(Not X-L size like below!)

I hope I don't get such a heavy girlfriend or my back would break!

Used my friend's shot as I just refused to get hit! I either blocked or dodged.

NOOOO! My soft serve ice cream! I will Kung-Fu-Fight you for this Mr Panda!

Unleashed the hulk in me! Hulk Smash!

Hi batman, you will get diabetes eating me...because I am too sweet...

Warning: The pole here is really slippery and difficult to climb/grip!
''I am on top of the world looking, down on creations.......''

I forgot how I did this!

Weeeee! A clearer view of your d!ck! Why so small one!?!?

Save me from these zombies!

I am such a great and talented artist!

A bit exaggerated in here since a couple of eyes were on me when I took this shot. Thankfully I could do low rope during my army days easily but just be careful of rope burns! Dang, I should have videoed this station instead!

There were many other stations which I did not feature in this blog post as I did not want to be such a big spoiler (I am only a small spoiler...).

My tips for those who want to thoroughly enjoy the experience:

1) Hate those spotlights as they tend to spoil most of my beautiful pictures with me inside. You will notice many patches of light reflection throughout my pictures. Just try to exclude the lights as much as possible.

2) Not only the exhibits are under the spotlight, I myself look ultra white in some of the photos. Get your photographer (best a patient one) to instruct you on the positioning.

3) You do not necessary need to follow the instruction of where to stand to take the best shot, experiment with different positions for personal preference.

4) One important thing is to get the angle right! Hard to explain in the form of words but be sure to keep the alignments in check.

5) Wear clothes you don't mind lying on the floor with because some stations require you to do so.

6) It is really boring seeing repetitive poses of people at each stations. To outshine, be as dramatic as possible, or show exaggerated facial expressions. Pose something people would not dare or want to do.

7) Posing with friends make the experience more fun and lively. However do not overdo it such as having 10 people in a picture.

8) Towards the end of the exhibition, my energy level was drained out. Train up a bit on your flexibility, stamina as well as strength because these are required for crazier extreme poses.

Currently, Alive Museum is having a promotion! Check out the link here for more details!
